This has seen The Mariners slip down to 8th in the Hyundai A-League, with six points between them and the last of the playoff spots that they so desperately crave. Western Sydney Wanderers below them also have two games in hand, so they could well find themselves second from bottom before long.

The visitors’ main issue recently has been in front of goal. They have scored just 11 goals this season, the lowest tally in the league, and have failed to score in each of their last four games. Away from home they have failed to score in three of their last four as well, with their overall goals tally only kept respectable thanks to a 4-1 win at Wellington Phoenix in November.

Melbourne Victory don’t have the best defensive record in the league by any means, but they will fancy their chances of a clean sheet on Saturday. Add to that the fact that they have only seen three or more goals in half of their home games this season and backing Under 2.5 Goals looks a good choice here, especially since Melbourne Victory haven’t scored more than two goals at home all season.
